William Shakespeare

This year we are celebrating the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death. Santos Isasa School invited the 5th Primary students of CEIP Nuestra Señora del Rosario to a fun activity where they learned a lot about Shakespeare and his time.

Following Shakespeare's timeline we talked about the importance of Shakespeare, his life as an actor and writer, his theatre, The Globe, and some of his most important plays.

We even had some of the characters on stage. Hamlet, Juliet and the Fool appeared on stage. We all learned a lot, had a wonderful time and some of them even got a penny for their correct answers (1 penny was what poor people had to pay to stand in front of the stage to see the play). Here are some photos.

Elizabeth I and W. Shakespeare

Juliet Capulet and William Shakespeare

Hamlet, talking to Yorick

Some of the games in the activity

All the students were ready to do the activites

And they all wanted to answer the questions

Women couldn't act in Shakespeare's times so it was boys who played their parts. Juliet is getting ready here.

The students followed the presentation very attentively
